Conway Menihan is born February 14 in Rochester, New York
1924 While
in high school designs a cover for Five O'Clock, a magazine published
by Rochester journalist Henry Clune
1926 Enters
the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania where
he designs sets, posters and program covers for the Mask and Wig
Club
1930 After
seeing an exhibition of lithographs by Rochester architect Walter
Cassebeer, acquires a lithographic press and stones
1931 Begins
to draw portraits of socialites and newsmakers for Town Tidings
- The Magazine of Western New York and the Rochester Times Union
1934 Makes
the first of two trips to Zena, near Woodstock, NY, to study with
master lithographer Bolton Brown
1937 Exhibits
lithograph in International Printmakers Exhibiton, Los Angles, Museum
of Art
1938 Exhibits
several lithographs at the Albright Art Gallery in Buffalo
1939 Exhibits
lithograph at the New York World's Fair Show
1942 Temporarily
gives up art to work in family business, which makes parachutes
during World War II

Creates a shrine to St Joseph for St Louis Catholic Church in Pittsford,

Paints portrait of Bishop James E. Kearney for St John Fisher College

1960 Designs
and executes mural for Xerox Research and Engineering Center in
Rochester
1964 Designs
and executes 112-foot mural for Security Trust Company in Rochester
1965 Creates
Stations of the Cross for Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brighton,

and executes mural for Rochester Telephone (the mural is now located
at Rochester Institute of Technology's National Technical Institute
for the Deaf)

and executes mural for the R.T. French Company
1974 Creates
a relief sculpture of "Our Lady of the Grapes" in the
garden of St Januarius Church in Naples, NY
1978 Creates
a triptych depicting the life of St. Elizabeth Seton at St. Thomas
the Apostle Church in Irondequoit, NY
1983 Retrospective
